Born in Kampala on the 30th of August, 1975, Hassan Mukiibi obtained a BA degree in Literature and Linguistic. Initially a self taught artist, Mukiibi quickly made a name for himself with his colorful paintings of common everyday African scenes. He now also holds a BA degree Industrial and Fine Art from the Margret Trowel School of Industrial and Fine Art.
In 2003 he received a Ngoma Artist Residency in Kampala, Uganda and in 2004 he was asked to participate in the AID Child Exhibition the Ugandan Culture center in Uganda. Mukiibi spends a great deal of time using his art therapeutically to help those who are underprivileged and suffering from HIV.
The artist currently resides and has studio in Kampala, Uganda.
