Kubena has been painting for more than 30 years. At age twelve she was given the opportunity to start studying painting at a studio in Houston, Texas. After years of studio classes and teachers, Kubena began participating in workshops given by professional artists throughout Texas, where she learned many techniques in oils, watercolors, and acrylics that she still incorporates today.
