There are more deaths in the United States of young people than are dying in Iraq or who died in 911 -
Who cares? Remember the crack epidemic, and how at first it was just in the ghettos, and then it spread to the suburbs?
Then who cared?
Each day our country invests billions of dollars in weapons, space exploration, and war. Perhaps society and our government, needs better "eye care." Each day we walk past those who are facing limited economic opportunities.
Many of us have stocks in portfolio’s, but how many of us take stock in the lives of the homeless. What about their children? Their families? Are stocks really more valuable than the lives of young men and women? We don't see them, just the stereotypes. What will become of them if You, if Me, if we, don't help? Who cares?
